Tel Aviv Football Derby Cancelled After ‘Violent Riots’ And ‘Risk To Human Lives’
The entire media/political establishment in the UK has just had its pants pulled down after a football derby between Maccabi Tel Aviv and Hapoel Tel Aviv was cancelled following ‘violent riots.’
This comes just days after Keir Starmer announced he was doing ‘everything in his power‘ to overturn the decision to ban Maccabi fans from attending the team’s Europa League fixture against Aston Villa on November 6th, which was a call made by Birmingham City Council’s Safety Advisory Group and West Midlands Police.
Keir Starmer called the decision “antisemitic”, but it turns out Maccabi fans wouldn’t even pretend to behave themselves for long enough to allow the media narrative painting them as victims to continue.
A statement from Israeli police said the game on Sunday was called off “following disturbances and violent riots” in which 13 civilians and three officers were injured by pyrotechnic devices.
The statement added: “These are very serious incidents that posed a real danger to the lives of police officers and civilians.”
A riot broke out between Maccabi Tel Aviv and Hapoel Tel Aviv fans tonight and the game was called off but anyone who says they don’t want this kind of violence in Birmingham is an Antisemite according to Keir Starmer and the Labour Government pic.twitter.com/sgThblCo5B

A Maccabi statement read: “Following the police’s decision, it was determined that the Tel Aviv derby will not take place tonight.”
Not a great look for Keir Starmer, who was prepared to overrule regional police, Birmingham City Council’s Safety Advisory Group, a local MP, Aston Villa, a national football policing organisation and international intelligence-sharing networks just so that Maccabi fans could travel to Villa Park and put local people in danger.
It’s going to be interesting to see how the Prime Minister spins this one now. Maybe he’ll just ignore this development completely and allow Maccabi fans to travel anyway? Wouldn’t surprise us.
