Russian boxer Anastasia Luchkina is facing backlash after letting an endangered orangutan take a few hits on her vape at the Taigan safari park in Crimea. Planet of the Vapes?

The 24-year-old shared the footage on social media as though she didn’t realise that is something she probably should not be doing:

According to local outlets, the orangutan displayed “disturbing” behavior after consuming the nicotine, losing her appetite, and not interacting with others.

One report says the the orangutan, named Dana, “lies motionless throughout the day.”

So, not ideal really to share your vape pen with an orangutan. Then again, it’s not really ideal to keep an orangutan locked in a cage either. In fact you could argue that you may as well let an orangutan smoke to its heart’s content if you’re going to keep it locked in a cage for its whole life.

Authorities are now considering whether to fine Anastasia and/or ban her from the zoo for life, which wouldn’t be the worst punishment in the world, all things considered. If I was her, I’d probably be more concerned about catching some type of orangutan disease given she was puff puff passing with a caged animal.

Maybe if she’d have let 5,000 orangutans hit her vape, she could have called it a clinical study and got away with it? Something to keep in mind if you’ve got similar ideas.
