A video has emerged showing a mass brawl that erupted in the normally quiet town of Holmfirth, Yorkshire.

The footage shows people holding men back as others lay out on the floor after being injured in the fight. The Huddersfield Examiner reports that one man was seriously hurt in the conflict, which occurred over the weekend.

It is unknown why it started and now police are looking for witnesses, with Detective Inspector Ian Thornes saying:

A 36-year-old man was taken to hospital after being assaulted and suffering a fractured or dislocated jaw.

The incident has been reported to police and I would appeal to anyone who was in the area at the time to get in touch and tell us what they saw. It would appear to be an isolated incident.

Seems like it was all kicking off up north this weekend. I wish I knew what started both the fights, although if I had to hazard a guess, I’d probably say booze was a key factor.
