If you haven’t been living under a rock for the past month or so, then you’ll be well aware that notorious YouTubers KSI and Logan Paul have recently collaborated on an energy drink called Prime that is literally flying off the shelves everywhere because little kids want it so badly and there’s such a limited supply of it in the country right now.

Obviously if you wanted to make a quick buck and be a complete prxck about it, a good business model would be to head over to Asda or Aldi (these are the only two locations Prime is currently available and even then it’s super limited) and buy up a bunch of crates of it and then go and sellthemt in your own shop for a massive mark up. This is exactly what Wakey Wines up in Wakefield have decided to do and they’ve also managed to go viral with a social media presence that’s giving me strong Binley Mega Chippy vibes, as well as somehow not being called out for being massive dxckheads either.
Basically, the owner of the store will interview everyone who comes in for a short TikTok, asking them where they’ve come from and how much they’ve spent on Prime and blast out a few of his catchphrases too, which seems to have offset the fact they’re massively overcharging for the drink. The craze started with the family below who travelled up from Nottingham and spent £1000 on three crates of the energy drink that should have cost £72, but the store owner has continued to do it ever since.
Bizarrely though, people aren’t condemning him for this practice but seem to love his friendly/affable persona and weird TikToks and are more dissing the people for be willing to travel and pay that much money rather than Wakey Wines for exploiting them. God you would think there’s only so many times that he can do that before it gets boring but there’s literally hundreds more of those clips on his page and they’ve all got thousands of views so I guess it doesn’t? It’s also great how you can tell in each one that the dad absolutely hates that he’s had to drive so far to buy some crappy energy drink, spend loads of money and participate in a dumb TikTok video just to make their kids happy, but I guess that’s just what parenting is these days. Gotta get with the times.
As for Wakey Wines, absolute assholes or social media geniuses or a bit of both? You decide.
