The Daily Wire Has Fired Half Its Staff And Ben Shapiro Has Lost 85% Of His YouTube Audience

Tough times for Ben Shapiro and his media company The Daily Wire – it’s reportedly just sacked half of its staff in mass layoffs as Shapiro himself and other MAGA influencers see huge losses in engagement and audience retention.

Shapiro is said to have lost 85% of his YouTube audience, even though his overall subscriber count remains high at 7.1 million.

Despite that number, he has been losing a net average of 20,000 to 30,000 subscribers per month, or up to 1,000 a day.

So how come monthly views have cratered by 85%? That’s a hell of a lot of people tuning out. Did they finally just realise how annoying and dishonest this guy is?

Most people think it has to do with MAGA types feeling betrayed by Shapiro’s unwavering pro-Israel stance and the boner he has for continued war in the Middle East, and disregard for Americans who will die in these wars.

He’s completely isolated his ‘America First’ and MAGA audience, who used to get a kick out of him “destroying woke campus liberals” on YouTube, and the fact he supported Trump so heavily.

Meanwhile, other conservative influencers like Tucker Carlson and Candace Owens are currently experiencing explosive growth in viewership and engagement. Probably doesn’t help that Shapiro has been beefing both of them at a time when they’re more popular than ever.

Naturally, Candace has been weighing in on the news of the Daily Wire layoffs…

Honestly I don’t understand how anyone could watch/listen to a full episode of Ben Shapiro doing anything. It just sounds unbearable on so many levels.

Pre-Trump he was considered rebellious and edgy and “based” and one of the antidotes to the extreme tenets of “wokeness”. But now that his side is in charge, and particularly since October 7, you see what kind of person he really is and it’s a huge turn-off for the people who used to support him.

So now that they’ve sacked half the workforce at the Daily Wire and Shapiro’s views have plummeted, it will be interesting to see if they pivot the content somehow. If they had their finger on the pulse, they might have seen it coming a long time ago.
