Bagpipes are obviously majorly associated with Scotland but I don’t think that anyone expects there to be a guy standing there playing them when you land in the country.

Most people aren’t Snoop Dogg though and the promoters of his gig last night at the OVO Hydro wanted to make sure that he was welcomed into the country in the best way possible by hiring a local musician to play the bagpipes whilst he walked from his plane to his transport. Ross Ainslie was the man in question and was only too happy to upload footage of the greeting and him playing Still D.R.E. to Snoop, who responded by doing a little dance and looking pretty happy:

That’s a pretty funny video sure, but I don’t know about you but I just think the bagpipes kinda suck? Like Still D.R.E. didn’t really sounds that good on them at all. There’s a reason why it was played on the piano/keyboard and not the bagpipes, you know what I mean?

I guess it was kind of funny when the guy from Korn used to bring his bagpipes out but even that sucked when you get down to it, so for the most part I just don’t think they’ve really got any place in popular music anymore. Sorry.

For more of the same, check out this really funny video of Susan Boyle going absolute beast mode on the bagpipes. OK, maybe that can stay.
