I think it’s fair to say that most people out there are fairly excited about Matt Reeves’ new Batman film that’s hitting cinemas this Friday as the trailers so far have kinda made it look like a neo noir murder mystery on a par with something like ‘Se7en’ – and the fact that Paul Dano’s Riddler looks like some kind of psychopathic eco terrorist certainly isn’t doing anything to lessen the hype either.

However, although we all know that there’s no such thing as bad publicity, Robert Pattinson probably isn’t doing the movie’s press machine too many favours after he became a meme (again) during an appearance on the red carpet for the movie’s London premiere last Wednesday. Apparently Pattinson decided to wear a suit that was way too big for him as a homage to Bruce Wayne in the Batman comic books, but obviously the internet had different ideas and decided to mercilessly rinse him for it:

Ouch. I don’t think this meme is going to become as iconic of that one of Ben Affleck smoking outside and looking absolutely narked off with everything after his personal life fell apart whilst he was trying to write a script for his own Batman movie, but it’s definitely got some very goofy energy and probably isn’t going to do Pattinson too many favours as he tries to become a serious actor. Hopefully his performance in ‘The Batman’ will do that for him though – all the early reviews are good so it sounds like we should be seeing something special when it drops this Friday. Looking forward to it.
