Rapper Boosie Badazz Sues After Paying $600K For Trump Pardon That Never Materialised

Baton Rouge, Lousiana rapper Boosie Badazz is suing right-wing lobbying firm JM Burkman & Associates after paying them $600,000 (£450,000) to secure a Trump pardon for him.

Boosie, 43, paid the sum seeking a pardon for a gun possession case, hoping to have his record wiped competely clean and avoid a two-year prison sentence.

According to Boosie’s lawyer, Jill Craft, the lobbyists preyed on the rapper’s desperation by acting like they “had Trump on speed dial”.

In reality, a White House clemency official stated they had never heard of JM Burkman & Associates.

And so, it sounds like Boosie was essentially scammed out of $600,000. Funnily enough, he had paid up before the judge sentenced him in January 2026 (hoping to pre-empt the ruling), and was actually spared (further) jail time regardless, handed a $50,000 fine and supervised release instead.

Since then, he has actually violated his parole conditions by assaulting someone (bottling a club security guard), traveling out of his district without court permission, and failing a drug test, so I guess he could use that pardon after all.

Boosie now faces 18 – 24 months inprison, but in the meantime is trying to get a $300,000 refund on the $600k he paid, pointing to a retainer contract clause requiring a 50% refund if a pardon was not secured.

JM Burkman & Associates dispute the claim, arguing that the refund provision was never agreed to or signed, and that their firm is effectively broke from previous legal fines. Lol.

What a disaster. Boosie had blatantly seen how Trump pardoned rappers previously like Lil Wayne, Kodak Black and NBA Youngboy, and thought he’d definitely be in with a chance if he paid 6 grand to a group of right-wing political operatives who claimed to have Trump’s ear.

In the end they took his bribe and did sweet F-all for him. He then avoided jail anyway, but managed to land himself in even more trouble and is now looking at jail + a $600,000 deficit in his bank account. What an idiot!

Don’t feel too bad for Boosie Badazz, though. If you couldn’t tell already, he’s a pretty awful person with a load of crimes including assault and sexual abuse under his belt. He also apparently paid a sex worker to have sex with his underage son and disowned his daughter for being a lesbian. Top guy right there.
