‘Peaky Blinders’ is one of the most successful British TV shows of all time so it’s only natural that people are going to be very interested in anything creator Steven Knight turns his hand to in the future and up next for Knight is six part drama series ‘This Town’

The writer/director describes the show a love letter to Birmingham and Coventry about four young people that find themselves drawn to ska and two tone music and skinhead culture back in the 70s. So pretty much like a Birmingham version of ‘This Is England’ I guess? I’m sure it’ll probably be great though if Knight is involved.

Anyway, the series will star Levi Brown, Jordan Bolger, Ben Rose and Eve Austin in the lead roles and it started shooting in Wolverhampton last weekend, but showrunners are still looking for skinheads/naturally bald people to appear as extras until the end of February. Here’s what the casting call had to say about it all:

Skinheads and people with shaved heads are wanted for an upcoming BBC series, This Town (by the creators of Peaky Blinders). In and around West Bromwich. Must have good availability from now until the end of February.

Film Artistes Association (FAA) rates apply with a flat fee of £10 for travel. Anyone interested should email [email protected] using ‘skinheads’ as the subject line.

Could be a pretty fun time if you live in the area? Hit up your bald and skinhead mates and let them know about the opportunity. They could be a part of television history.

For more of the same, check out these portraits of skinhead culture from 1979-1984. Looks like one hell of a time.
