Alicia Silverstone in Aerosmith – Cryin’ (1993)

Alicia had been delving into some real supreme roles throughout the A-List of Hollywood including the leading part in The Crush (1993) – which scored her a 1994 MTV Movie Award – and caught the attention of Marty Callner who happened to be directing a video for rock band Aerosmith. She was cast in “Cryin'” and went on to appear in “Amazing” and also “Crazy” – which also starred Steve Tyler’s daughter Liv who went on to do Loreal Adverts at the height of her fame.

These three songs and videos were hugely successful for both the band and Silverstone, making her a household name as well as gaining her the nickname, “the Aerosmith Chick” – but that might have been because she did them all – who knows. The videos also got her noticed by filmmaker Amy Heckerling, who, after seeing them, decided to cast her in the film loosely based on Jane Austin’s Emma, Clueless (1995).

It is a genuinely great video though – with then 17 year-old (not legal in America boys) Alicia running around catching her dirty cheat boyfriend (Stephen Dorff – Blade) at it, breaking down on a deserted highway, getting her belly button pierced before having her bag nicked by and subsequently kicking fvck out of mandatory Hunk, Sawyer from Lost (Josh Holloway). The video climaxes, as do we, with a quasi-suicide attempt and Alicia giving resident douche bag Dorff the finger.

Sick Video.

Aerosmith also had a pretty 17 year-old Mila Kunis (Black Swan, That 70’s Show) cameo in their 2001 hit Jaded. Those Aerosmith boys really do like ’em young and rumour has that when Tyler has finished fallating Simon Cowell on X Factor they are going to release some new material. They are hoping to cast Dakota’s little sister Elle Fanning in their next video as they felt 17 was just too old nowadays and they want something a little more fresh. Nice.
