The nights might be getting longer and the days getting colder, but McDonald’s have decided to cheer us all up a bit by introducing potato waffles to their menu for the first time.

I’m not sure if I’ve ever thought about how delicious it would be to enjoy some potato waffles with my Big Mac or McNuggets or whatever, but apparently that’s something that people have been dreaming of for years so a load of people are overjoyed about the news. Well, sort of because McDonald’s are only introducing mini waffles into their breakfast menu meaning that you’ll be able to eat them with your Egg McMuffin, but sadly not with any of the main meals.

They’re also introducing the BBQ Bacon stack, the McCrispy Burger – the first permanent chicken burger on the menu for 15 years – and some Nacho Cheese Wedges as their autumn menu change up. Here’s the promo material for those delicious new items:

Yeah sorry but I don’t think I’m getting the hype about these? Even the promo shots don’t make them look very good. The waffles just looks really small and crumbly/flakey. Reckon you would be much better just buying your own and whacking them in the toaster rather than travelling to McDonald’s to get them.

Twitter was going absolutely wild for them though:

Maybe I should give them a go? At £1.39 for three of them I suppose they’re OK value. Will let you know.

For more of the same, check out this mouthwatering pizza waffle. Much better as well.
