We’ve written a few articles over the years about how people have spent loads of money on plastic surgery to look like their heroes and then ended up looking absolutely nothing like them whatsoever, so it’s nice to be able to say that this guy who has spent $15,000 on looking like his favourite dog has actually succeeded.

Yeah, that’s really him in the pictures that you can see above, although he hasn’t spent the money on plastic surgery like some of the freaks we’ve featured in the past. Instead the Japanese man called Toko enlisted a company to make him a costume that allows him to shuffle around and look like a realistic border collie. Here’s what he had to say about it, as well as an introductory video that he decided to make for YouTube:

I made it a collie because it looks real when I put it on.

My favourite is quadrupedal animals, especially cute ones.

Among them, I thought that a big animal close to me would be good, considering that it would be a realistic model, so I decided to make it a dog.

I met such a condition and made collie, my favourite breed of dog.

Wow. Quadrupedal is a word that people use all the time hey?

Anyway, disregarding the way that he talks, this is still a completely weird course of action for the guy to take. Why does he want to pretend to be a dog and why does he want to spend $15,000 for the privilege? Completely bizarre behaviour.

You’ve gotta admit though that the money does seem like it’s been well spent as the costume is remarkably realistic, although he obviously can’t run around like a real dog and can just meekly shuffle along. If he was just standing there looking at me though I might be fooled for about two seconds. I think Toko’s friends should probably be concerned about the way his life is going in this respect.
