LUIGI: The Musical To Open Five Minutes From Site Of CEO Murder
Luigi: The Musical is set to make its New York City debut on 15 June 2026, at The Green Room 42, a cabaret venue located inside the Yotel in Midtown West.
This venue is around 5 minutes from the site where Luigi Mangione, 26, gunned down CEO Brian Thompson in broad daylight as he was on his way to an investor conference in 2024, becoming something of an anti-capitalist cult hero in the process, whilst also (probably) securing himself life in prison and, apparently, his own musical.

The production’s New York run begins exactly one week after the scheduled start of Mangione’s murder trial – set to kick off on June 8.
Described as a “dark comedic musical satire,” the show reimagines a fictionalised prison interaction between Mangione and high-profile real-life inmates Sam Bankman-Fried and Sean “Diddy” Combs. What, no Nicolas Maduro?
It sounds pretty bizarre to say the least, but perhaps not as bizarre as Luigi being charged with “an act of terrorism” for shooting a CEO, as though it’s special just because the guy was rich and powerful.

Luigi: The Musical has already held sold-out runs in San Francisco and appeared at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe, so it must be doing something right.
Mangione allegedly murdered UnitedHealthcare CEO Thompson due to deep-seated objections to corporate greed and the “parasitic” nature of the health insurance industry.
His manifesto and online activity suggested his actions were motivated by a desire to combat what he viewed as systemic corruption.
It’s going to be a hell of a job finding a jury for this trial. Will be very interesting to see how it plays out this June. What fantastic timing from the producers of this musical! Looks like they’ve got it all figured out.
