Love Island Star Removed From Villa After ‘Involvement In Stabbing’

Another ITV vetting fail this week as a Love Island contestant has been removed from the villa after bosses were alerted to his involvement in a past stabbing.

In fairness to model Gabriel Garland, 24, he didn’t actually do any of the stabbing himself, but apparently his friend stabbed two people at a party in London on New Year’s Eve 2019, after Gabriel had an altercation with them.

Garland wasn’t charged with any offence, but his mate Vitor Mazzer, the stabber, was found guilty of two counts of causing grievous bodily harm with intent, and sentenced to three and a half years in jail.

When contacted for a comment, an ITV spokesperson told Metro: ‘Gabriel has now left the villa and will not be returning.’

Seems a tad harsh, tbh? He didn’t stab anyone, wasn’t charged, and it happened seven years ago when he was 17. Would it have really been so bad for the show’s optics if they had left it alone?

If he had hurt someone or made a bunch of racist Tweets or touched a girl without her consent, I’d understand booting him off the show. But I think the lad has been hard done by here.

Makes you wonder whether ITV purposely get people like this involved on the show so they can drum up some publicity and controversy by kicking them out over stories like this down the line?

Well anyway, I guess that’s his reality TV career dead and buried. All because his buddy stabbed a couple people at a New Year’s Eve party. Unlucky, fella.

At least he’s still got the modelling thing going, apparently.

For the Love Island contestant who was kicked off the show after a video of him brutally KO’ing someone went viral, click HERE. That one’s more understandable.
