A lightning strike in Oyster Bay, Sydney on Saturday narrowly missed two Australians who were lucky enough to catch it on camera as they hid in their boat shed.

Holy crap. Did you see how fast that was? Literally no warning whatsoever — just an instant dagger of lightning that would have burnt these two dudes to a crisp if they were stood just a little further out. Nature can be profoundly scary sometimes.

Luckily the above were all able to avoid getting struck by the lightning themselves, which is more than can be said for this poor photojournalist over in Brazil.
