I kinda thought that everyone knew that Keanu Reeves always thought of himself as a musician more than an actor with his band Dogstar, but a lot of people talking today don’t seem to have had any clue about this fact until the guys announced that they would be releasing new music after a 21 year break.

Keanu played bass in the band from 1991 to 2002 when he left to concentrate on his now absolutely humongous acting career. Dogstar – which also includes  Robert Mailhouse and Bret Domrose – have been active on social media since last summer and have been teasing the release of new music over the past few months, with the biggest hint coming from a recent post showing the guys taking part in a photoshoot, the last part of the equation needed before new music is released.

Take a look at some of the posts below:

Certainly looks like they’re gearing up for a summer of touring doesn’t it? Back in the day when it was revealed that Keanu Reeves was in a band everyone just sort of laughed about it because nobody knew what a nice guy he was back then and we all just thought he was kind of a lame actor, but I imagine everyone will be all over it because everyone loves him now after ‘John Wick’.

Not sure if I ever even bothered listening to them back in the day – it was a lot harder to be fair – but here’s a song they played on Jay Leno once. Kinda sounds like a not so good version of Counting Crows or something which I suppose is OK if you like that sort of thing? Not sure if I actually do though.

For more of the same, check out when Matthew Perry said that he hated Keanu Reeves recently for some reason. That was a bit strange wasn’t it?
