There’s been a lot of talk surrounding transgender swimmer Lia Thomas and whether or not her recent victory in the 500 yard freestyle race at the NCAA championships should be allowed to stand because she’s a biological male. There’s literally multiple posts a day from people wading in with their opinions on it.

I’m not gonna get involved with the debate here as I don’t think I have much to offer on an incredibly complex issue in which I have at least some sympathy for both sides, so instead I’m just going to let you listen to what Joe Rogan has to say on the matter. Joe always knows best right?

What it is now is not good. What it is now is an assault on women’s sports.

And the idea that anyone would think it’s fair that someone who was number 4-6-2 as a man. 462 in the nation, is number 1 as a woman a year later. And that’s fair,

People are – women are – so frustrated because if you – or parents if your daughter is competing – and they’re competing against trans women it’s not fair.

I think he has got a point there, but there’s also the fact that Lia Thomas didn’t do so well in the two other races she entered and didn’t break any world records during the event either, despite the fact that 27 were smashed. She’s also only ranked as the 15th fastest college swimmer and her time is nine seconds behind Olympic Champion Katie Ledecky, so to say she’s an assault/threat to women’s sports might be a bit much.

I do know that it must completely suck for any women pushed out by Thomas in the medal rankings and they probably do have a right to be angry about the situation. I’m just not sure what the solution is though.

For more of the same, check out what happened recently after a woman revealed she was transgender on a date. Very disturbing content.
