We’ve all said some stupid and wildly incorrect things in our lifetimes, but going on national television and telling the world that solar eclipses are caused by climate change may just take the cake.
Especially when your name is Sunny and you then get fact-checked by an irritated Whoopi Goldberg:

Well, I suppose even the smartest among us can be misinformed on a topic. I mean, I get that she’s trying to make a general point about how our behaviour on this planet in terms of pollution, deforestation etc is f*cking up the ecosystem and affecting the climate, but to think that could somehow cause a solar eclipse is just painfully dumb. Has anyone on Loose Women ever said anything so stupid?
Still, I guess it’s relatively harmless coming from a talk show host. There are actual elected officials out there saying that these phenomena are warning signs from God ‘to repent’. So not to worry, Sunny Hostin. Yours isn’t even close to the dumbest take on the topic.
Or, how about this theory that the reason Earth is so hot is because a bunch of witches put a curse on the moon. Something for the ladies on The View to discuss next time.
