Having come out of the Johnny Depp defamation case looking absolutely terrible, Amber Heard faces not only career ruin but bankruptcy too, with experts suggesting there is ‘no way back for Heard in Hollywood’ and that she’s currently ‘too icky for any studio’.

In addition to the $10 million in damages she’s been ordered to pay Depp, Heard has already lost out on possible earnings of up to $50 million thanks to all the drama, according to industry expert Kathryn Arnold.

In terms of her career, Hollywood bosses are ‘unlikely to consider her’ for roles going forward. She’s also lost out big time on brand deals with companies avoiding her like the plague following the huge outpouring of support for Johnny Depp.

British PR expert Mark Borkowski says:

‘There is no way back for Heard in Hollywood. If you’re sitting there making a movie or thinking about casting it, are you going to hire her?

Look at the huge outcry about Aquaman 2 [where a petition to have her kicked off the film hit four million signatures last night]. The trial pollutes any marketing or PR to launch a film.’

Former entertainment lawyer Matthew Belloni adds:

‘The personal baggage that was revealed in this trial is just too icky for a studio to want to deal with.’

Is it fair that Amber Heard has lost her ability to earn a living just because she came off a little crazy during the 6-week trial? If we were banning all the crazy people from Hollywood I’m not sure many films would be made at all. Then again – it’s one thing being crazy and it’s another being completely unlikeable (at this moment in time anyway). Not ideal for anyone who’s trying to market a movie in the near future to slap Amber Heard on a poster (unless she’s starring opposite Johnny Depp). I’m not sure if she’s otherwise professional and easy to work with on set, but from the sounds of it no one is going to risk being associated with her anytime soon.

If she had Meryl Streep levels of talent? Then maybe she could get away with all the drama. I’m pretty sure no one ever sat down to watch an Amber Heard movie because of her acting chops, but rather because she’s a conventionally hot woman. Which probably suggests she’ll be OK in the long run whatever she ends up doing. I mean if Will Smith can be forgiven, then so can Amber Heard, eventually… right?
