Here’s The Moment Charlie Kirk Suspect Tyler Robinson Is Told The State Will Be Seeking The Death Penalty

It probably comes as no surprise to Tyler Robinson that the state will be seeking the death penalty when he is inevitably convicted of the assassination of Charlie Kirk, but here’s the moment he found out anyway:

There might be just a hint of shock on his face as he realises that he is going to be put to death over this, but mostly he seems devoid of any emotion whatsoever. Which is pretty much what you’d expect from a homicidal psychopath (although there is some debate over whether Robinson actually killed Charlie Kirk or if he’s a patsy being used to cover for whoever is truly responsible).

Either way, expect it to take many, many years before Tyler Robinson is actually put to death for the shooting. Some people reckon it could be longer than 20 years in what will be a very highly and carefully scrutinised process. It’s basically a guarantee that he will be convicted, but it remains to be seen whether a) the seeking of the death penalty persists throughout the trial and b) if the jury agrees with it. Even after that, he’ll have a couple decades of appeals and legal shenanigans to draw things out even longer.

Although, who knows? Maybe Tyler Robinson will wind up dead without a death penalty necessary. Stranger things have happened…
