Gwyneth Paltrow Called Out For Criticising ‘Super Rich White Dudes’ With A Reported $200M Net Worth

Gwyneth Paltrow is catching some flak after criticising the cultural “idolatry” of “super rich white dudes”… while she herself possesses a reported $200 million net worth.

On a recent episode of her podcast, the 53-year-old Hollywood actress said: “How did we get here as a culture? Obviously, there’s so much revenue and profit driving this whole thing. That’s at the heart of it.

“But how do you think we got to this place in culture where nothing matters and now all that matters is kind of these super rich white dudes who are breaking rules, setting rules, seemingly not caring so much about the downstream impact on everything, from health to culture.”

Which is pretty rich (pun not intended but intended) coming from someone who made a fortune selling candles that smell like her vagina. Aside from millions she already made as an actress and exorbitant prices of her Goop products in general.

Among the reaction and comments online…

“She is literally a chromosome away from being a rich white dude.”

“Super rich white dudes? Coming from Paltrow that is kinda funny,”

“Paltrow thinks she’s smart dishing out her word salads, but she always sounds like a lunatic. She’s been surrounded by wealth & privilege her entire life and never known real work or hardship. She’s completely out of touch with the rest of us.”

“Another elite celeb talking about rich white men. Girl please. LOL”

“Her criticism would have carried real weight if she had given up her own money.”

Look, at the end of the day, it’s a good thing that conversations like this are being had. People are just a little irked that it’s Gwyneth Paltrow facilitating the conversation when she’s such a massive beneficiary of capitalist culture herself.

Then again, maybe her status actually makes her the perfect messenger? I’m not sure there are many people out there who listen to Gwyneth Paltrow’s podcast, but clearly it’s enough that she can say something like this and have it go viral because people are so annoyed at her.

Previously, Paltrow has admitted being a “very privileged kid” and a “nepo baby”, though she maintains that her lineage (her parents are actress Blythe Danner and director Bruce Paltrow) did not guarantee her success.
