‘Ghost In The Shell’ Looks Like A Strong Contender For Best Sci-Fi Movie Of The Year

So much action.

Most people who knew what they were talking about were understandably up in arms after plans for a live action version of the classic anime movie ‘Ghost In The Shell’ were announced, but after the first trailer dropped over the week many are starting to change their tune.

The movie stars Scarlett Johannson as a cyborg named Major leading the Section 9 task force and desperately trying to uncover her true identity. Take a look:

Looks intense huh, although I probably could have done without another cover of ‘Enjoy The Silence’ though, am I right? Kinda made up for it by seeing Scarlett Johansson make out with a girl and prance around in a tight full body suit shooting people though – you can’t really complain about that can you?

I did say a couple of days ago that Valerian And The City Of A Thousand Planets looked like it was going to be the best sci fi movie of the year when it dropped a couple of days ago, but I think that this might run it close. Fingers crossed anyway – the original is such a great story I wouldn’t want this version to ruin its legacy.
