Pro tip – if you ever get stopped by an armed Mexican cartel in the backroads of Riveria Maya, just act gay and they’ll send you on your merry way. These lads’s reaction was so perfect that it made stoned cold killers feel sorry for them! Although I’m pretty sure if the passenger was the driver in this situation their car would have got lit the F up. “Go go go”? Probably not a good idea when the car’s surrounded by Mexican gangsters with AK47s, my dude.

Jokes aside, I think the reason the cartel spared them is because they’re tourists, and typically the cartels don’t mess with tourists because it brings too much attention. Probably just looking for a rival cartel to wipe out or a Mexican family to rob, not two American lads who are “just trying to see birds” 🤲. Great story for these two to bring back from their travels though. Stay safe boys!
