It wasn’t that long ago that Gary Lineker said he knew of two gay Premier League footballers, but whether these are the same two footballers in these new reports is anyone’s guess. According to several sources, two Premier League teammates are in a relationship and completely open with their teammates and club about being a gay couple.

Naturally, the internet is always going to gossip about this sort of thing and the top 2 names coming up so far are Reece James and Mason Mount. As far as I know that rumour is based 100% on this photo of the Chelsea teammates partying together in Vegas last summer:
Not the most conclusive photo ever, but who knows? There’s plenty of other Premier League teammates it could be. Grealish and Haaland? James Milner and Mo Salah? Saka and Emile Smith-Rowe? Could be anyone!
Well anyway, hopefully one day we’ll be at the point where it isn’t even seen as a big deal. Obviously it’s news any time two famous people get it on because that’s just the nature of celebrity gossip, but the same-sex aspect of it will only become secondary when enough footballers come out for it to be normalised. Which is entirely their choice if they want to or not, of course. Let’s just hope there’s no reveals in Qatar, eh?
