‘Fast X’ Director Quit Because Vin Diesel Is ‘Late, Out Of Shape & Doesn’t Know Lines’

I’ve never really understood why ‘The Fast And Furious’ movies somehow morphed from a franchise about undercover cops drinking Corona and investigating illegal street races into something where the main characters are now blasting off into space, but I don’t think I ever thought that this was all down to Vin Diesel and his ability to say ‘family’ multiple times in one movie. There surely must have been way more going on than that, right?

Sadly though, it does seem as though Vin Diesel does think that the success of the series is all down to him and that’s why he had that weird beef with The Rock a few years ago and why Dwayne no longer wants to appear in any of the remaining movies. This also apparently means that Diesel is doing whatever he wants on the set of the final movie ‘Fast X’ and it’s this behaviour that has ultimately led to director Justin Lin quitting the movie last week.

You might have seen a weird video that Diesel posted where it sorta looked like he was holding Lin hostage on the set last week. Well, I think less than a day later Lin quit and the New York Daily News posted a special report on his reasons where they said the following:

“I’ve never seen anything like it. Lin’s giving up $10 or $20 million [as director],” a veteran producer not involved with Fast & Furious told the Daily News.

According to the source, “Diesel shows up late to the set. He doesn’t know his lines. And he shows up out of shape.”

“No one is dissing Vin Diesel on the record, but everyone knows,” said my source.

‘Everyone knows’ is pretty indicting isn’t it? The problem is though that ‘The Fast And Furious’ world doesn’t operate without Dominic Toretta and Vin Diesel is well aware of this and seems to be determined to live it up for his final appearance as the legendary driver.

Anyway, I suppose it doesn’t really matter because the movie is still going to gross a billion dollars anyway. Maybe get Vin Diesel to direct it? Probably a fairly cheap option at this point and like I said, it’ll make money no matter what. Let’s see what the guy is really made of right now. One last ride for family Dom.

For more of the same, check out this stupid quote about Vin Diesel giving The Rock some tough love during shooting one of the “Fast And Furious’ movies. Don’t think anyone believes that.
