We all know that people can go a bit overboard with the decorations when it comes to Christmas, but I think the woman in this one really takes the cake after dying her dog green and red so that he looked like The Grinch – and having the whole process backfire massively for her.

Ashley Spielmann thought it would be a great idea to turn her dog Rizzo into The Grinch for Christmas and her dog groomer was only too happy to oblige, but after she posted a video on TikTok, it was viewed 8 million times with many people commenting on how cruel and awful it was for her to do this as the dog looked so sad. Spielmann has tried to retcon her image by posting other videos of Rizzo dancing around and acting happy with her, but they’ve barely been viewed at all and I fear that the damage to her reputation has probably already been done.

Yeah don’t really know what to say about this one. Rizzo does look pretty sad in the first video sure, but in all the other ones he’s bouncing around and looking happy so I don’t really think you can say that Ashley is a terrible dog parent. I suppose a lot of people are arguing that he never consented to having his fur dyed green, but as dogs can’t really communicate with humans you could argue that they never really consent to anything that happens to them too.
I do think it’s kind of weird that she did this but hopefully it brought her and her children some joy at least because she really is getting hammered in some of the comments. That’s just the way it always goes with the comments now though isn’t it? Just another tragic victim of social media.
