Don’t be one of those people. A lot of people have this idea at the same time, and that’s why it becomes a problem. A shop usually aims to close at the time it says on the front door, and the staff (if the shift manager isn’t a cunt) aim to leave as soon as possible afterwords. This means they move all but one of the cash registers to a dingy back office, put the numpty who drew the short straw on the till, and make everyone else face-up (this is an industry buzzword that means ‘make it look nice’ to all you outsiders). With only one till, it means one customer at a time, and we all have homes to go to, so just come a little bit earlier so that we can go to ours too.
