Unreal scenes in the Bulgarian league the other night. Tsarsko Selo took on Lokomotiv Sofia in the final game of the season, with the score at 1-1 going into the final minutes. In the 96th minute, Selo were awarded a last-gasp penalty! If they scored, they would avoid relegation and retain their status in the top division for another season.

Gambian Yusupha Yaffa, who spent time in the AC Milan academy, picked up the ball and was all set to take the penalty. Amazingly, the club’s owner Stoyne Manolov stormed onto the pitch to demand Martin Kavdanski take the kick and not Yaffa. Welp, you saw how that one turned out. Kavdanski took perhaps the tamest penalty in football history and it was easily saved, resulting in Tsarsko Selo being relegated and the owner being left with copious amounts of egg on his face.

Which begs the question – is Stoyne Manolov the worst club owner in football? The guy literally storms the pitch because he thinks he knows better than everyone else and his decision ends up costing his team a crucial win. Not only that – he immediately dissolved the club after the result! Tsarsko Selo is literally no more! Kinda hilarious to think he couldn’t be bothered with a season in the lower leagues and would rather dissolve the entire club than have them continue. Almost have to respect it.
