It’s kinda crazy that Raheem Sterling still gets somewhat of a bad rep considering he’s won the Premier League four times, has scored at least ten goals a season for the past five seasons and pretty much singlehandedly dragged England to the Euro 2020 finals last year, but people still seem to want to rag on him every chance they can get.

This list apparently includes the BBC, who today were more than happy to imply the he was a rapist by showing a picture of him in his new Chelsea strip whilst discussing the case of the Premier League footballer who has been arrested on suspicion of rape. Seriously, how do you make a mistake like that?

Here’s the clip:

A Premier League player arrested on suspicion of rape has not been suspended and can fulfil his professional…’

We’ll have more on that story a bit later on.

Was going to say, they can still travel, the player has not been named, still can travel and fulfil the arrangements of the team’s pre-season.’

We don’t know the team, we don’t know the player either.

I suppose he made an OK attempt to style it out there, but it’s completely unacceptable that they’re associating anyone with this crime and even more so that it’s Raheem Sterling, who always seems to get targeted by the media and hasn’t really even done anything wrong ever, except for being black and successful. You can’t see them ‘accidentally’ leaving a picture of Harry Kane up there can you?

The BBC did make an on air apology later on, but I don’t really think that that’s going to make up for it. Sort it out please.

For more of the same, check out this awkward moment Raheem Sterling had with the physio after Man City won the league cup. Maybe that’s a bit suspect.
