Australian Man, 46, Arrested In Thailand After 17-Year-Old Girl’s Body Found In Suitcase
Horrific case in Thailand this week as an Australian man has been arrested and charged with the murder of a Thai teenager whose body was found stuffed in a suitcase alongside a railway line in Pattaya.
Simon Carman, 46, met Tunchanok ‘Nong Kae’ Donhomla, 17, on Pattaya’s Beach Road strip on Thursday night and took her back to his hotel at 3.30am, where they were seen walking hand-in-hand on CCTV.
After a while, Nong’s friends became concerned as she wasn’t returning their calls, and reported it to police. Upon checking the CCTV, police saw her entering Carman’s room and not coming out, whereas he emerged dragging a black suitcase.

Inside the room, police found signs of a struggle and blood, and two hours later, they found Carman at the airport buying tickets and about to return to Perth, Australia.
Sure enough, he had scratch marks on his neck and arms, and while he initially denied it, he eventually confessed to murdering Nong, with police discovering her naked body bent double in a 66cm black suitcase dumped about 10 minutes from the hotel where he had been staying.
He explained that he had agreed 1,000 baht (£22) to take Nong to his room, but once there, discovered she was on her period, so he demanded a price reduction to 500 baht (£11).
They then began arguing, and he claims he killed the teenager in self-defence.
Police made Carman film a video message to the family of Nong, in which he said: “I feel bad for what happened to your daughter. It was out of my control. I know you’ll be very sad, same same me. It shouldn’t have happened. I hope you’re OK. I know you’re not. Please tell your other daughter to be careful.”
Big ups to the police in Thailand for managing to catch this braindead, noncey low-life at the airport before he managed to escape the country, and likewise to Nong’s friends who raised the alarm in time. Incredible they were able to do it all so quickly.
At the end of the day, this 46-year-old man killed a 17-year-old girl over a 500 baht disagreement. That’s eleven quid or $15 US or $20 AUD. It’s a relief that he was caught before he managed to return to Australia so he can now feel the full brunt of the law in Thailand, and the pure hell that is Thai prison.
In fact he may even end up with the death penalty. Although on some level, that would be letting him off easy. No doubt the Thais will come to the correct decision.
RIP Nong and thoughts with her friends and family.
