I think it’s probably fair to say that in recent years there has been a trend of promoting body positivity in the world and most people would say that this is a good thing as fat people are no longer chronically depressed because of their weight or bullied as much about it as they used to be.

However, one person who definitely disagrees with this viewpoint is Serving Queen’s Guard Lance Sergeant Farren Morgan. He’s a fitness instructor within the army and is absolutely disgusted by the body positivity movement, arguing that it promotes obesity and an unhealthy lifestyle.

Here’s what he had to say:

These young lads – some of them are only 16 or 17. I know they watch TV day in and day out. I know from my eight years of training young recruits that their brains are like sponges.

They see these images in the media, promoting this unhealthy lifestyle – celebrities saying it’s okay to eat what you want, as long as you’re happy. That mis-information gets stored in their brains and they pass it on.

Anyone who’s ‘triggered’? Well, they should just ‘man up and get over it.

With calories on menus, they were saying that some people with eating disorders might be scared off eating the food if they see how many calories are in it.

But I think we’re scared to just see what’s going on and deal with it.

Just grow a pair. We’ve been through two world wars, but it seems like we’ll try to find anything to moan about.

Yeah I suppose Morgan does have a point there but he could probably present his opinion in a more sympathetic way, although that would be pretty out of character for the guy considering he’s an army fitness instructor. You can tell exactly what kind of a person he is from his little diatribe above can’t you?

Anyway, I think there probably is some value to what he’s saying there, but why does he even care so much? Stop being an asshole and let people eat a load and get massive if that’s what they want. There’s enough information out there for them to make their own choices without someone like this condemning them all the time. Try and be happy yourself maybe Farren instead of projecting like this?

For more of the same, check out Sydney Sweeney being called a threat to body positivity. That’s a bit much isn’t it?
