The hype may have moved slightly away from the Johnny Depp/Amber Heard issue for the time being as the jury is locked away deliberating their verdict, but one woman was determined to remain the centre of attention after getting a tattoo of Depp’s lawyer, Camile Vasquez, on the side of her leg alongside the word ‘objection’. Real classy.

Jazzmyn Wollfe posted about her new tattoo in a 10 second clip on TikTok last week which begins with her designing the tattoo and then stick and poking it herself onto her leg. However, despite amassing one million views on the social media platform, Wollfe hasn’t been particularly happy with the reaction as many people have accused her of trivialising domestic abuse and not taking the whole issue seriously whatsoever.

Here’s what she had to say about the matter in an attempt to justify it, as well as the original TikTok:

I was so impressed and amazed by the confidence she maintained the whole time. How unapologetically she pursued justice and trying to shine light on the mistreatment of somebody she believed had been abused.

Honestly, my jaw dropped.

Many people have made assumptions about my own personal beliefs.

They said that I’m advocating for abuse, and that couldn’t be farther from true.

I recently left an abusive relationship where I spent years suppressing my own voice and my own pain for the convenience of a narcissistic abuser,

So, to see somebody fighting back against that in such an impressive manner, I really took inspiration from that moment.

I just wanted it to be a symbol of strength.

Yeah I think you probably need to wait until the verdict to decide whether Vasquez is actually a symbol of strength or not, but I suppose Wolffe’s explanation does at least make sense. I know it’s only a stick and poke tattoo as well but I’m also kinda surprised how nobody is talking about how crap her tattoo is? Really think that people will struggle to recognise that as Camile Vasquez, even with the ‘overruled’ tag on it as well. Maybe that will end up being for the best though after the verdict.

The tattoo is however in keeping with the rest of the artwork on Wolffe’s body so I can understand why she’s more concerned about trivialising domestic violence rather than any backlash about the design. I don’t think she’s really got a leg to stand on though because if you get a comedy tattoo of someone involved in a domestic violence trial then there’s no way that you’re actually taking that seriously, is there?

I suppose we’re all guilty of that to some degree with the way it’s been portrayed in the media though, so that’s something to think about it. Only a matter of time before we hear the verdict.

For more of the same, check out Johnny Depp rocking out at the Royal Albert Hall with Johnny Depp a couple of days ago. Way to lie low whilst waiting for the verdict.
