Alexander Sørloth’s Instagram Is Being Flooded With Abuse After He Failed To Pass To Haaland

Alexander Sørloth is catching some flak from angry fans after he failed to pass to Erling Haaland during Norway’s 2-1 quarterfinal loss to England earlier.

Haaland would have almost certainly put the ball into the back of the net which would have put Norway 2-0 up, but Sørloth selfishly held onto it, eventually taking the shot himself which was easily snuffed out:

Not sure how Haaland didn’t take his head off after that tbh. It was the most obvious pass/assist in the world but Sørloth went for glory instead. Imagine Norway had gone 2-0 up just before half-time? Would have been a tough ask for England to come back from that deficit.

And so, Norway fans are understandably fuming with Sørloth, and are letting him know it on his Instagram posts:

There’s hundreds/thousands more comments but you get the picture. “Who lied to you about football being your sport” – damn, that is brutal.

Fair play to Sørloth – he hasn’t locked his comments (yet) so I guess he’s taking it on the chin. No doubt he realises that he f–ked up massively and should have passed the ball to the most prolific goal scorer in the world at that moment, but hey, what’s done is done. Can’t change the past now.

Hopefully Sørloth isn’t stripped off his Norwegian citizenship for that error, but at least he’ll be something of an England hero if the Three Lions go on to win the tournament. Come on England!
