Lizzo’s New Album, B*TCH, Sold 2,649 Copies In Its First Week
Tough times for Lizzo who was one of the biggest pop stars on the planet a few years (so to speak) – her new album B*TCH sold just 2,649 copies in its first week.
That number dropped to 650 copies in its second week, a plunge of over 75%, with streaming numbers also dropping from just under 2.7 million to below 900,000.
Those numbers are so bad that the album didn’t even chart.

So what the hell happened? After all, this is a famous and well-established artist whose last album in 2022 went straight in at Number Two on the albums chart.
Well, according to Rolling Stone, the music itself isn’t particularly great and has been receiving lukewarm reviews, so that’s never going to help.
However, the main driver in Lizzo’s popularity collapse has been the fallout from her 2023 backup dancer lawsuit.
You may remember she was sued by her dancers (case still ongoing) for allegedly fat-shaming and bullying them, including forcing them to eat bananas from sex workers’ vaginas in Amsterdam.
Aside from that, she lost a lot of respect from her hardcore fans after going on Ozempic and losing a bunch of weight, after promoting herself as a symbol of body positivity, self-acceptance and love in a world that tells bigger girls they’re not good enough.
Even with that in mind, it’s shocking that she can’t get anyone to listen to her new album. Lizzo has 11.3 million followers on Instagram and 26.4 million followers on TikTok. Do these people even know she’s got a new album out or what? Maybe they’ve just forgotten to unfollow her with everything else that’s going on in the world.
Well anyway, good luck to her. Maybe putting the weight back on is a decent shout?
