21-Year-Old Woman Dead After Bungee Jump Workers Forget To Attach Her Safety Cord

A 21-year-old woman has tragically died in Brazil after being thrown from a 40-meter (130-foot) high platform during a bungee jump without a safety cord attached.

The catastrophic incident occurred on Saturday morning at the “Ponte do Esqueleto” (Skeleton Bridge) in Limeira, Sao Paolo…

Absolute incompetent morons. How do so many of them fail to notice that the safety line isn’t attached to her harness? Just an unprecedented level of stupidity to the point where it almost doesn’t even make sense. Can you imagine being so dumb that you manage to just straight up throw someone off a platform to their death?

Six people have since been arrested over the incident, with two of them actually running off to hide in the woods before they were caught by a police helicopter. Just so you know the type of characters we’re dealing with here.

The victim has been identified as PE graduate Maria Eduarda Rodrigues de Freitas.

The initial police filing categorised the case under dolo eventual (implied malice/gross negligence), indicating that the operators assumed a known risk to human life by completely failing to audit safety attachments before launching the victim.

Local authorities also noted the group had no authorisation or legal regulation to conduct extreme sport events at that bridge. Welcome to Brazil.

RIP Maria and thoughts with her friends and family.
