Russell Brand Tells Piers Morgan It Wasn’t ‘Morally Sound’ To Sleep With A 16-Year-Old Girl
Russell Brand has told Piers Morgan it wasn’t the ‘morally sound’ thing to do to sleep with 16-year-old girl when he was 30 – after admitting to a relationship with the barely legal teenager in an interview with Megyn Kelly earlier this week.
"It's difficult to make that claim when you have to acknowledge that your actions caused distress."

Brand said: ‘In the place where I was… that was a legal thing to be doing, but not a morally sound thing to be doing.’
Brand, now 50, also said that all the rape allegations against him have ‘taken the shine off’ his coveted ‘Shagger of the Year’ awards that The Sun used to hand out to him back in the day…
"Amidst the rape allegations, the 'Shagger Of The Year' titles do not seem as valuable… the shine has come off!"

He said: ‘Some of the glory’s faded, amidst the rape allegations, the Shagger of the Year titles do not seem quite as valuable, I’ll have to confess. Some of the shine’s come off.’
That is pretty funny, to be fair.
Asked if he thinks about the reality of going to prison, Brand said: ‘Yes, all the time, every day.’
‘I will be with God wherever I am. And of course, I would prefer to be with God with my wife and my kids… I’m not saying that that’s not a difficult image… of course it is.’
Brand, who had his Bible with him during the interview, added: ‘We are going to find out the truth, and we’re going to deal with the truth… if the truth is I am going to prison, then I am.’
Really leaning into the born-again Christian thing, which I guess you may as well do when you’re a famous person facing rape and sexual assault charges.
Brand was originally supposed to stand trial at London’s Southwark Crown Court starting June 16, but it was pushed to October 12 last month. Gives him more time to do the interview circuit and talk about Jesus and the Bible some more. Whether he’s digging a bigger hole for himself or it actually helps out in the end remains to be seen.
