Australian Police Stop Man Because His Car Had ‘Antisemitic’ Watermelon On The Window
An Australian police officer looked like he was ready to hand in his badge and quit after having to tell a driver in New South Wales that they were being stopped because of ‘antisemitic’ material on their car window.
That ‘antisemitic’ material? A small watermelon sticker…

When the driver queried what the anti-Semitic material was,
The officer replied 'the small watermelon'🍉.😂 pic.twitter.com/p9ywfsHN4W
Now, the watermelon has long been used as a symbol of support for Palestine, as its colours (red, green, black, and white) match the Palestinian flag. But does that warrant a motorist being pulled over for having a watermelon sticker on their window? Even the officer looks completely embarrassed about it…
Reports indicate that NSW Police have investigated multiple instances involving the watermelon symbol since 2024 following October 7, sometimes when used alongside terms like “genocide”. It doesn’t look like it’s ever lead to anyone being charged, but even just pulling people over and giving them a warning seems like a complete waste of time.
I mean, imagine being stopped or arrested not because you were driving over the speed limit, not because you ignored a stop sign or ran a red light, but because you’ve got a watermelon sticker/freshener in your car.
Besides, does why should solidarity with Palestine necessarily equate to antisemitism? Makes you wonder why they put in so much effort into making out that this is the case.
