Family Of Brit, 21, Found Dead In Thailand Want To Speak To Mystery Woman

Earlier this year, Joshua Kershaw, a 21-year-old landscaper from Grimsby, was found dead in his Bangkok hotel room. He had been in Thailand just 10 hours before he died on January 13 2026.

Since then, the family have been working hard to figure out exactly what happened. Initially all they knew was that Joshua had been rushed to hospital, then discharged himself and went back to his hotel the same night. He had a gauze on his arm, suggesting a needle puncture or IV site from his hospital stay.

His mum Jenny has now issued an update on Facebook – revealing that Joshua had a combination of 7 different substances in his system at extremely high levels, and that the case has been reopened as a murder investigation…

Joshua’s mum also shared images of a woman they are trying to identify who was with him in the hours leading up to his death. They have photos, but don’t know her name. Anyone recognise her?

In one of the pics, she’s holding Joshua’s belongings…

There’s just so many terrible aspects of this story, including the fact that the family weren’t informed about Joshua’s death until January 21… 8 days after he died. They also were not informed that the case had been closed (before being reopened).

Furthermore, the official death certificate records Joshua’s time of death as 15:16, but the family were also told that this was the time they received a call from the hotel to say he had been found dead. When did the guy actually pass away?

Obviously no one can say for sure whether this mystery woman was involved in Joshua’s death, but the only way the family can have some sense of closure and move on with their lives is if they can get some answers and find out exactly what happened.

Joshua’s body was already returned to the UK in February, before a funeral was held at Wakefield Crematorium.

If you’re over in Bangkok or recognise this woman – you can contact Josh’s family here.
