Woman Who Falsely Accused 10 Different Men Of Rape Faces Jail Time
A woman from Farnworth, Bolton, who made false rape accusations against TEN different men is facing jail after admitting to it was all a “pack of lies”.
Stacy Sharples, 31, falsely accused 10 men between 2013 and 2023 – some met via dating apps like Plenty of Fish and Badoo – of serious crimes including rape, being held at knifepoint, and physical assault.
None of the men were ever charged, but they suffered severe consequences. Some spent hours in custody or months on bail, while others reported losing contact with their children, suffering from PTSD, or contemplating suicide.
Here’s a rundown of a few of the false accusations and what they entailed…
- Sharples went to the home of her first victim, Kaylum Davies, on Boxing Day 2013. After leaving his house, she phoned her brother claiming she was in danger and had been forced to perform a sex act. Davies spent 18 months on bail. Ultimately he was not charged because there were ‘inconsistencies’ in Sharples’ story.
- Next, Sharples claimed to have been raped by James Blundell at a hostel in Burnage. He spent 17 hours in custody and the investigation into his conduct lasted for six months.
- Sharples added her third victim, Astron Inman, to a Facebook chat in 2018 and sent him a picture of herself topless, saying she would like to join him for a shower. After going to his home, she reported to police she had been violently assaulted by him, even though the sex was consensual.
- She met her 4th victim, Andrew Dearden, outside a Cash Generator store where he helped her sell her TV. Sharples entered the store and phoned police to falsely allege Mr Dearden had raped her the previous night.
- Met cleared victim Reece Lockett outside a fish and chip shop, before calling 999 saying ‘there’s a guy I got done for rape a while ago threatening to kill me’. When Lockett told her police were investigating her false allegations, she boasted: ‘They’re not pressing charges. I’ve got away with it. Yet again.’
- Another victim, Anthony Green, was falsely accused by Sharples of having ‘hurt, bitten and strangled’ her.

Despite none of her accusations ever going anywhere, Sharples continued to make them and police continued to investigate. On several occasions, Sharples declined requests to be interviewed or undergo medical examinations.
In the end, police figured out she was a serial fake rape accuser and arrested Sharples, at which point she claimed to have a emotionally unstable personality disorder.
She told them: ‘You need to look into my mental health. That’s all I need to say. You’ll never understand, I had a s*** upbringing.’
Well, that’s for sure.
Bolton Crown Court heard that Sharples’ lies had cost taxpayers as much £120,000, aside from all the damage it did to her victims.
Sharples had faced 19 counts of perverting the course of justice, but only 10 proceeded to court as she had already admitted to a sufficient number to ‘reflect her overall criminality’.
Convicting Sharples, Judge Nicholas Clarke KC called her a ‘sexual predator’, adding: ‘Only belatedly by her pleas has she now acknowledged that it was all a wicked pack of lies.
‘I want to make it clear to anybody that reads anything about their names anywhere, that these men’s lives have been blighted by unfortunate allegations which have been made involving some sort of sexual offending, none of which are true at all.’
Sharples was remanded in custody and is scheduled to be sentenced on March 11. Let’s hope she gets the sentence she deserves.
