People Are Shocked That Ghetts Only Got 12 Years For Hit & Run After CCTV Footage Released
News broke yesterday that UK rapper Ghetts had been given a 12-year-sentence for causing the hit-and-run death of 20-year-old student Yubin Tamang in Ilford, east London, while drink driving.
12 years seemed pretty lenient; especially when you consider that Ghetts did not stop or call an ambulance, ‘played dumb’ when arrested, and had 12 previous convictions for 27 crimes, including various driving offences.
That sentiment has only strengthened now that CCTV footage of Ghetts driving like a lunatic on the night has been released:

There’s also footage of Ghetts striking Yubin Tamang with his BMW M5 while going 65mph in a 30mph zone, but we can’t share it here. In the clip, Tamang goes flying 60 – 70 feet in the air.
A 12-year sentence seems like even more of a joke when you consider that Ghetts will serve just two-thirds of it before being released on license for the remainder.
As such, here’s the reaction on social media:

Judge Mark Lucraft told the court that Ghetts would have received 16 years had it not been for his guilty plea.
The rapper and actor will be out in a few years and free to rebuild his life and maybe even his career. Sadly that won’t be the case for Yubin Tamang, whose parents have lost their only child due to the utter brainlessness of a repeat offender on the roads.
RIP Yubin and thoughts with his friends and family.
