Holly Valance Shut Down By GB News Presenter After Using The R-Word During Interview

Neighbours legend Holly Valance is something of a right-wing poster girl these days, and so a word like ‘r*tard’ rolls off the tongue even when she’s giving a live TV interview where you’re typically expected to refrain from using that kind of language.

Valance, 42, was trying to make a point about the COVID period being a good barometer for sussing out ‘r*etards’ (presumably the people/countries who followed mandates at the time):

The singer was speaking after Apple Music briefly banned her ‘anti-woke’ song Kiss Kiss (XX) My A**e after it had hit #1 in the Aussie Apple charts.

She told host Josh Howie on Free Speech Nation ‘During Covid was the big like tester to see.. like the r*tard meter. And Australia was quite high on that.’

Howie quickly cut her off and apologised for her use of the R-word, saying: ‘Sorry for using that word, but that’s okay, but… I think some people unfortunately might be offended.’

Valance said: ‘Hey, are we not Free Speech Nation over here? Where am I?’.

Howie replied: ‘You’re right, you’ve got me there. We are Free Speech Nation, apart from that one word.’

Well, and a few other words, I suspect.

A few years ago her use of the ableist slur may have seen her cancelled completely, but the R-word seems to have made something of a comeback in recent years. Maybe not to the point where you can say it in interviews on live TV, but still. Would anyone have even known that Holly Valance was on the telly if she hadn’t said the word “r*tard”? Doubt it.
