Kiefer Sutherland Told Uber Driver ‘Pull Over Or I’ll Kill You’ Before Assault Arrest

Kiefer Sutherland reportedly went full Jack Bauer on an LA Uber driver who refused to pull over when the ’24’ star repeatedly asked him to, resulting in an altercation that led to the driver calling the police.

As per Rolling Stone, there was a ‘language barrier’ between the pair (shocker) and for whatever reason, the Uber driver refused to let Sutherland out of the car.

The Uber driver claims Sutherland, 59, threatened to kill him if he didn’t pull over, but you would think his proficiency in English could end up being a factor in Sutherland’s favour here.

I mean, the Uber driver barely understands English, but he did understand it when he was a supposedly threatened? In fairness, ‘I’ll kill you’ is pretty universal. But then so is ‘stop the car’?

In the end, Sutherland was arrested on suspicion of making criminal threats (not assault) and was released on $50,000 bail. Which seems a bit extreme for something that sounds like it was a misunderstanding and involves a ‘language barrier’, so will be interesting to see how it plays out.

No idea why Sutherland was asking to be let out of the car, but I have to admit, if I was in an Uber and the driver wouldn’t stop after I repeatedly asked him to, I would start getting a little nervous too. Compound that with the fact that Sutherland is famous and there’s extra reason for the guy to get jittery.

Now, Sutherland does have a history of being a total pr1ck so that has to come into consideration also.

At the end of the day though, the real Jack Bauer would have killed the driver right there and then and just let himself out of the car, no problem.

Uber driver had a lucky escape, all things considered.
