As an Uber Eats driver, you never know what you might be getting yourself into when delivering food to a customer, but one of the last things you’d expect is to be dragged into someone’s home, brutally murdered and then dismembered on your final drop of the day.

Florida native Randall Cooke, 59, had the misfortune of accepting an order from MS-13 gangster Oscar Selis Jr, 30, this week. Upon arrival, Selis Jr reportedly pulled him into the address and launched a vicious and unprovoked attack while robbing him. After Cooke’s wife reported him missing, police turned up at the address of his last delivery and discovered his body parts in plastic bags by the side of the address.

Here’s a FOX 13 news story about it that goes into more detail:

I know we shouldn’t judge a book by its cover, but he hardly looks like the type of guy you would let babysit your kids, does he? Still, you wouldn’t expect anyone to be insane enough to pull off something like this for no reason whatsoever. If you’re an Uber Eats driver in the area (or anywhere really), you’re probably extra cautious going into every delivery after hearing about this story, and several other stories that have been doing the rounds recently about drivers being raped/murdered/robbed on the job.

Still, think about how many deliveries are made daily. If you’re an Uber Eats/Deliveroo/Just Eat driver, the chances of anything close to this ever happening to you are almost zero. You’re more likely to be killed in a car crash on the way to the delivery than by the person you’re delivering to, although I’m sure most of us would prefer to perish in a car wreck than be brutally murdered by some MS-13 psychopath in his living room.

RIP to Randall Cooke and thoughts with his family who you can’t help but feel devastated for after watching that footage. Selis Jr faces charges of murder while engaged in a robbery, failure to register as a convicted felon and for a parole violation. He was released from prison in January after serving four years for an assault and burglary conviction. Let’s hope it’s much, much longer this time.
