Conor McGregor Launches Petition To Alter Irish Constitution So That He Can Run For President

It looks like Conor McGregor has realised that he won’t meet the criteria proscribed in Article 12.4.2 of the Constitution in order to get nominated and be on the ballot to run for President of Ireland. So he’s now started an online petition to alter the Constitution thinking that a bunch of people signing it will actually bypass the referendum needed to amend it in the first place. What a guy!

McGregor is pushing the petition under the tagline ‘Save Ireland’, claiming that “Ireland is on the cusp of losing its Irishness” due to the “illegal immigration racket”.

Maybe there’s a conversation to be had there, but is Conor McGregor really the man who’s going to sort it all out? The guy who’s coked out of his brain 24/7, repeatedly cheats on his wife, and who the Irish people don’t even particularly seem to like?

Essentially, he’s counting on a bunch on his mostly non-Irish X followers to sign this petition because most people who actually live in Ireland won’t, but even if they did, it wouldn’t make a difference; a petition won’t make those in power change their country’s constitution just so Conor McGregor can run for President FFS. What planet is this guy living on?

Listen, fair play to the guy for taking matters into his own hands and trying to make a go of it, but it’s really just a waste of everyone’s time and we really wish he’d just pack it in and return to the Octagon instead of trying to be taken seriously as a politician.

Then again, if Donald Trump can do it, then maybe Conor can too? In fact, he’s already invited Trump to his pub in Dublin when the US President visits Ireland in November. “Best Coke in all of Ireland”? He knows what he’s doing there…

Trump recently singled out McGregor when asked who his favorite Irish person was. McGregor has also been spotted walking around with a Make Ireland Great Again cap. MIGA? That might take some getting used to…
