With both the Tories and Labour an utter shambles, a lot of people are expecting Nigel Farage and Reform UK to make waves at the next UK general election in 2029. But it now seems that there’s a new party on the horizon that will turn the battle into a four way dance, and it’s going to be headed by Jeremy Corbin and Zarah Sultana.

Yes indeed, Zarah Sultana has announced that she has quit the Labour party, and will be founding a new party with her former leader Jeremy Corbyn. Here’s her statement in full:

Well, that penultimate line really is something eh? Will be interesting to see what kind of branding and tag lines they come out with because surely it would be smart to distance themselves as much as possible from the Labour party, and that includes doing away with the red font. What will the party name even be? That’s an interesting one to look forward to.

It will be the one mainstream party in the UK that will have the balls to speak out against what is happening in Gaza, and actually attempt to do something about it. Like not send more weapons to Israel, for example? Which could be the very reason alone that the powers that be find some way to ensure that Corbyn and Sultana never find themselves in power. Or maybe I’m getting a bit too conspiratorial here?

Sultana told ITV the other night that “there is a thirst for an alternative”, which is certainly true. I mean, you need at least one party that’s genuinely anti-war, right?

Of course, it will also be interesting to see what other ideas this new party will be running with. How socialist are we talking, exactly?

Let’s see what they come up with…
