People are already referring to December 8th 2020 as V-Day after the first Coronavirus vaccinations were administered today and everyone was after an exclusive interview with the people that had received them, leading to this very strange encounter on CNN.

91 year old Martin Kenyon was apparently just walking down the street when he was approached randomly by a reporter and turned out to have actually received the vaccination earlier. He then proceeded to talk at length about his day getting the vaccine – including tangents about his lunch and not being able to park – which pretty much made it the most stereotypical interview with an old British man ever. That’s before we even talk about his accent as well.

It’s probably just better if you watch it, but be prepared to laugh your ass off at this guy:

I rang up Guy’s Hospital [Guy’s and St Thomas’] which I know very well because I’ve lived in London most of my grown-up life.

I said, ‘What’s this thing you’re doing, the vaccination?’ They said, ‘Yes,’ and then they spent various times asking me questions about this and that – not very interesting.

I said, ‘Yes, no, yes, no,’ and they said, ‘Well, come at half past 12.’

Of course, I couldn’t damn well find anywhere to park my car so I was late. I’m here now.

I don’t think I feel about it at all. Except that I hope I’m not going to have the bloody bug now.

I don’t intend to have it because I’ve got granddaughters and I want to live a long time to enjoy their lives.

I’m going to tell my family, they don’t know I’ve been here today. I haven’t got time to ring up.

I’m getting home and telling them now. Nobody knows, you’re the first to know.

Yeah, pretty much perfect and I suppose an interview like this might go some way to creating a feeling of goodwill regarding the vaccine amongst those that just want to question it and accuse Bill Gates of planting microchips in them. Probably not though hey? At least the rest of us can enjoy it and it might cheer us up slightly. We’re in the home stretch boys.
