World War 1 is weirdly underrepresented in films, documentaries and even classrooms, I guess because history mostly pays attention to World War II. It’s a shame because WWI was an interesting and unbelievably violent war that shouldn’t be forgotten about.

Well the good news is that Sam Mendes’s ‘1917’ is dropping in December, and it looks absolutely epic. Here’s the trailer:

Based on that trailer, I don’t think they’re going to sugarcoat anything about the war or even try to give us a happy ending or any feel-good moments; it’s going to be raw and horrifying just like it was in real life. Have to say I’m totally pumped for it.
