If you’ve got beef with someone, then you might normally thrash it out with some clear the air talks or a good old fashioned fist fight. You don’t normally end up eating the other person.

It’s different for sharks though as this video proves. It’s taken at a South Korean aquarium and clearly shows one gigantic female shark eating a smaller male shark. Apparently they had some kind of dispute over turf within the aquarium and the only way to resolve it was for one of them to eat the other. As you do.

Apparently it took the shark 21 hours to fully get the other one in, with only its tail protruding from her mouth at the end. It’s thought that the tail will remain there for a few days until her body decides that she can’t actually digest it and then it will be regurgitated. Hope someone manages to catch a video of that too as it will probably be even better than this one.

Yikes. I don’t want to be messing with any sharks any time soon. Oh Tae Yup – who works at the aquarium – explained why the altercation had taken place:

Sharks have their own territory.

However, sometimes when they bump against each other, they bite out of astonishment.

I think the shark swallowed the whole body, because they usually eat it all when they bite the head part.

Crazy. If you want to see some more crazy animal fights, check out what happens when two giraffes fight each other.
