This Chinese Couple Spent Their Wedding Night Transcribing The Communist Constitution

When I think of my wedding night, I first think that it’s unlikely to ever happen but then I think that if it does I’m mot likely to spend it getting completely trashed with a bunch of my friends and my (hopefully)beautiful wife, before ending it with the only thing that’s better than prom sex – wedding sex.

One way I definitely don’t foresee it is the way that this Chinese couple chose to spend it, as they thought that it would be a great way to create wonderful memories together by copying out the Chinese Communist Constitution on their wedding night. It’s got 17,000 characters in it, so they probably didn’t get round to any of that fun stuff you should be doing on your wedding day like I mentioned above. Sounds like a night to remember.

Li Yunpeng and his bride, Chen Xuanchi were doing this as part of a campaign designed to shore up support for President Xi Jinping’s administration. It’s called Copy the Chinese Communist party constitution for 100 days and I guess it involves doing that. Again, sounds like 100 days to remember.

It kind of seems like the pair were forced to do this by their employer the Nanchang railway bureau because they posted the pictures on social media and said how much they had both enjoyed doing this on their wedding night, presumably to encourage others to do it. Just to do it in general, not necessarily on their wedding nights.

In all honesty though it was probably just a couple of photographs and this is a really bad marketing campaign akin to something you might see in a bad 1984 rip off. At least for Li and Chen I hope it was because it looks like a fucking awful way to spend your wedding night. Unless of course they have actually been brainwashed/conditioned into thinking that that is a good idea, in which case I feel even more sorry for them. Fucking China.
