Woman Convicted For Throwing Dynamite At Sleeping Boyfriend, Blowing Off His Hand

A New York woman is looking at up to 25 years in prison after she was found guilty of lobbing a stick of dynamite into her boyfriend’s bedroom, causing him to lose a hand.

Keyonna Waddell, 35, was convicted this week of throwing the dynamite at her sleeping boyfriend at a property in Deer Park, Long Island, as per KTVU.

After Waddell threw the dynamite into the bedroom, the boyfriend woke to a “hissing” sound and attempted to discard it. The stick of dynamite then blew up in his hand and necessitated the amputation of both his hand and part of his arm.

Apparently the couple had a heated argument earlier that day, and the boyfriend had ordered Waddell to leave the house. He then went to sleep thinking he was alone, but Waddell returned with the dynamite and went full Looney Tunes on him.

This wasn’t a random outburst, either. According to prosectors, Waddell had previously threatened the victim with dynamite several times in the months leading up to the attack.

The victim told authorities he never believed she would actually follow through on those threats until the night of the explosion. Can you blame the guy?

Where the hell does someone even get a stick of dynamite in this day and age anyway? ACME? The guy’s lucky she didn’t drop an anvil on his head as he left for work the next morning.

Awful experience for the man who now has to live the rest of his life sans one hand and with the trauma of that night. Waddell will be sentenced on May 27 – here’s hoping justice is served.
